motion was made, seconded and unanimously adopted to waive reading of the
minutes. (Mr. Mugdan noted that the minutes were available for review on the
Westmoreland website). Treasurer Gary Savage gave the Treasurers Report
indicating that the balance-on-hand was $16,599.78 as of May 17, 2008. A motion
was made to accept the Treasurers report. The motion was seconded and the

be reached during the day at: 718-279-5295 or by fax at 718-279-2444.
Warned that the new favorite article for car thieves is the GPS system. Be
careful not to leave it in the car. Also, wipe off the tell-tall ring on the
wind shield or dashboard. It is a dead give-away that the GPS system is being
used.
Dont leave items in the car.
Dont have IDs, particularly ones with your SSN in the car or in your wallet
Shred everything that has personal identifying information before discarding.
Be careful to use credit card numbers on-line only on secure and well-known
sites.
Dont leave ladders lying around outside the house.
The precinct does a free security survey of your home. Call Gary to arrange
one.
There was a stabbing in front of McDonalds Restaurant last month. The
perpetrator was identified.
Drug sales are going on during the day at Admiral Park. (Residents have also
witnessed deals on 43 Ave. near the fire hydrant).
Old Business:
LIRR street level crossing in Little Neck: State Senator Padavan got one
million dollars allocated for Quad Gates. The Westmoreland Homeowners
Association received a letter from Maureen McCarthy, the Queens Borough NYCDOT
Commissioner. The letter confirmed that funding has been provided to the LIRR to
design and implement the four-quadrant gate system at the crossing.
New Business
John Corrado, General Manager of Ollies Taxi asked if there were any concerns
with his company.
He was reminded that cars cannot idle for more than three minutes
Cars cannot park at the station overnight.
A member suggested that the association get local COMSTAT (police community
crime statistics) reports for the Little Neck area.
A member wondered if it would be possible to get a left turn light added to the
Marathon / Northern Blvd intersection for cars that are turning onto Marathon
Parkway.
Memorial Day parade is approaching. Members please march with the association.
Reminder:
The Douglaston / Little Neck Historical Societys annual meeting is Sunday April
13, 2008 in the parlor room or the Douglaston Community Church. Dr. Jeffrey
Roessler will conduct a talk on neighborhood preservation.
