SUMMER WORSHIP SCHEDULE
Please mark your calendars with our summer worship schedule.
During July, we will be worshipping with our friends at North
Shore Presbyterian Church, 275 Lakeville Road, beginning
Sunday, July 6 at 10:00 AM. Then, during August, both
congregations will be worshipping here at the Community Church
of Little Neck, beginning Sunday, August 3 at 10:00 AM. We
always enjoy this time of getting together with our good
friends from NSPC.
SUNDAY, JUNE 15 CHOIR RECOGNITION SUNDAY
We will celebrate Choir Recognition Sunday on Sunday, June 15,
during our morning worship. We will join in singing a number
of favorite hymns selected by our worshippers. Please join us
as we give thanks for the dedication of those who share the
gift of music with us.
THURSDAY, JUNE 19 NURSERY SCHOOL GRADUATION
Graduation ceremonies will be held at 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM in
Chapel Hall. Send our Nursery School children off to
Kindergarten with a prayer and a round of applause for their
hard work and the devotion of their teachers Fran Harnett,
director, and Nancy McBride.
SUNDAY, JUNE 22 INTERFAITH DIALOGUE
We are continuing our Christian-Jewish dialogue with our
friends from Marathon Jewish Community Center with a meeting
there on Sunday, June 22 at 8:00 PM. Our discussion will
center on two of the commandments: the prohibition against
stealing, and the admonition to remember the Sabbath day to
keep it holy. We are inviting representatives from other area
churches and synagogues to broaden our discussion. Our hope is
to evolve into a group that can have a positive impact on our
surrounding Little Neck/Douglaston area in ways we have only
begun to explore. There will be a sign-up sheet in the Chapel
Hall for those who plan to participate.
SUNDAYS, AUGUST 3, 10, 17, & 24 EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY
Pastor Drake will be teaching a workshop on worship beginning
at 9:00 AM. We will explore worship in general, various
elements of worship and why we celebrate them as we do,
current and future trends in worship, and attitudes toward
worship. Please plan now to join us for this exciting
opportunity.
SUNDAY, SEPT. 14 RECOVENANTING SUNDAY
We will begin with Bible School Registration at 9:15 AM in
Chapel Hall followed by a light breakfast of bagels and juice.
