With strong links to programming elements of Founders District, Queens Council of the Greater New York Councils, Boy Scouts of America, Cub Scout Pack and Boy Scout Troop 153 have developed an exciting program for boys in grades 1 through 5, and for young men who have entered grade six or have graduated from the Cub Scout program. These programs offer the tools and opportunities to: Enhance Character, Develop Citizenship and Ensure Fitness.

Scouting provides fun, friendship and positive goals through achievement, and the means to make the most of family, community and the nation through good deeds. Youth of all faiths are welcome at our Scouting units!

Troop 153 follows closely the patrol method of Boy Scouting, where the youth develop their understanding of the Scout Law and are encouraged to live according to the Boy Scout Oath.
The program at the Church of St. Anastasia encourages all youth to develop their obligation in the Scout Law for Reverence. The Cub Scouting program is intended to be simple and fun, enabling the entire family to take part.

The adult leadership in the Scouting program sponsored by the Church of St. Anastasia takes the obligation to offer the program in such a manner seriously, and regularly obtains basic training as well as ongoing training opportunities offered by Founders District and Greater New York Councils.

Youth Protection is a recognized concern, and the adult leadership takes part in elements of the Scouting program ensuring the health and safety of the youth. All adults are asked to recognize the need to support the unit, and provide as much practical assistance as is possible.
Troop 153 (graduates of Cub Scouting or graduates of the fifth grade) meets regularly during the school year on Sunday evenings at 4:30 p.m. in Father Smith Hall (enter St. Anastasia School from Alameda Ave).
The Troop camps frequently throughout the year. During the summer, the Troop attends Ten Mile River GNYC Scout Camp and takes part in other summer activities intended to provide merit badge opportunities (hiking, cycling, swimming, fishing, etc.), recreation, fun and fellowship.

The Cub Scout Pack (boys who have graduated Kindergarten, through the fifth grade) meets monthly in Fr. Smith Hall, and various dens which make up the Pack are formed for boys in each grade. The dens meet weekly, either on Friday or Sunday evenings in the Hall. The Pack holds an activity each month during the summer.

Updates for the activities of the Cub Scout Pack 153

Updates for the activities of Troop 153

We meet weekly on Sundays (when not camping) at 4:30 in Father Smith Hall in St. Anastasia School (enter on Alameda Ave).
There, we develop the needed skills for us to be successful in the Scouting program ... but more so, we love the outdoors!

We go camping each month, go to summer camp for one week, and last year we attended Philmont Scout Ranch for a great adventure of ten days.
We are a backpacking Troop!

Aaron Beattie is the Scoutmaster, Adriane Jarosch is the Committee Chairperson, and Eric is the Senior Patrol Leader.

Our Troop is open to all young men in the community who are graduates of the Cub Scout program or ages 11 to 18.
Join the adventure, call the number below for more information.

Information for unit events can be obtained from the Cub Scout Pack or the Boy Scout Troop Committee Chairperson.
Remember ... do your good turn for the day!
Thanks very much!
